Maddie: So Daniel, you’re from Canada, but you’re here at the Remigration Summit in Europe. Can you tell me what you’ve learned about Europe and the situation with remigration here, and perhaps compared to Canada?
Daniel Tyrie: Yeah, it’s great to come across the pond and see how things are organized here. The movement in Canada is very young, very small. And it’s great to see this level of kind of institutional development. The having real politicians here, boldly speaking about these issues — that’s not something we have. In Canada, no one wants to touch this issue with a 10-foot pole. It’s — there’s a lot of public support behind these kinds of ideas. But it’s great to see actual politicians and the level of activist, the level of organization that — that’s happening here. We’re looking to learn what we can and bring it back across the pond to our country, to keep pushing things forward.

Daniel Tyrie : Oui, c’est formidable de traverser l’Atlantique et de voir comment les choses sont organisées ici. Le mouvement au Canada est très jeune, très petit. Et c’est formidable de voir ce niveau de développement institutionnel. Le fait d’avoir de vrais politiciens ici, qui parlent franchement de ces sujets — ce n’est pas quelque chose que nous avons. Au Canada, personne ne veut toucher à ce sujet, même avec des pincettes. Il y a — il y a beaucoup de soutien populaire derrière ces idées. Mais c’est formidable de voir de vrais politiciens et le niveau militant, le niveau d’organisation qui — qui se passe ici. Daniel Tyrie: Ja, es ist toll, über den großen Teich zu kommen und zu sehen, wie die Dinge hier organisiert sind. Die Bewegung in Kanada ist sehr jung, sehr klein. Und es ist toll, dieses Niveau an institutioneller Entwicklung zu sehen. Echte Politiker zu haben, die hier mutig über diese Themen sprechen — das ist etwas, das wir nicht haben. In Kanada will niemand dieses Thema auch nur mit der Kneifzange anfassen. Es gibt — es gibt viel Rückhalt in der Bevölkerung für diese Art von Ideen. Aber es ist toll, echte Politiker zu sehen und das Niveau der Aktivisten, das Niveau der Organisation, das — das hier stattfindet.
